Furst Ranch Grand Opening: Inside All 11 Model Homes in Flower Mound
October 17, 2026 | Flower Mound & Argyle Real Estate
Eleven model homes. Nine builders. One very ambitious new community.
I spent Saturday exploring Furst Ranch during its grand opening celebration, appropriately called “Puttin’ Down Boots.” Between the model homes, giveaways, and festivities, it was a fun introduction to one of the biggest developments taking shape in our corner of North Texas.
And after touring all 11 models, I can tell you there's a lot more to Furst Ranch than beautiful kitchens and impressive entryways.
What Is Furst Ranch?
Located near Highway 377 and FM 1171, Furst Ranch is a massive master-planned community taking shape in western Flower Mound, near Argyle and Bartonville.
Developed by a Starwood Land affiliate, the community is designed to eventually include far more than residential neighborhoods. The long-term vision includes shopping, dining, recreation, schools, healthcare, employment centers, and extensive green space.
The residential portion is being introduced through three distinct neighborhoods:
-
High Plains: The first neighborhood, currently selling, with a variety of builders, homesites, parks, and trails.
-
Prairie Vista: A future neighborhood planned near Liberty Lake, featuring larger homes and more generous lots.
-
Cross Timbers: A future estate neighborhood with custom homes on multi-acre properties.
Each neighborhood will have its own personality, but the overall community is designed around connected trails, outdoor spaces, and shared amenities.
Nine Builders, Eleven Model Homes, and a Lot of Options
I toured all 11 model homes at Furst Ranch, and what stood out to me most wasn't any single house. It was the variety.
It's not often you find nine different builders in one community, offering such a wide range of price points, architectural styles, floor plans, and customization opportunities.
The builders include Ashton Woods, Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes, Partners in Building, Shaddock Homes, Toll Brothers, and Tradition Homes.
Advertised starting prices range from the mid-$500,000s to more than $1 million, depending on the builder, floor plan, and homesite.
A few models definitely caught my attention.
I loved the modern design of the Tradition Homes model. It had that contemporary feel without sacrificing the practicality of having an office, multiple bedrooms and an office on one level.
The Partners in Building model had some memorable architectural details, particularly the front courtyard and an eye-catching staircase. Those are the kinds of features that give a home personality.
But my biggest takeaway was the flexibility. Whether you're looking for something more streamlined or a larger custom home, there are opportunities to explore different builders, layouts, finishes, and design options without leaving the neighborhood.
And that's not something we see every day.
Of course, the level of customization depends on the builder, the home, and where you are in the construction process. Some offer more flexibility than others, which is one reason it's worth comparing your options before committing.
The Amenities Could Be a Major Draw
Furst Ranch has some ambitious plans for community amenities.
The proposed master plan includes:
-
A 97-acre public park
-
Approximately 400 acres of open space
-
A 20-acre community activities center
-
Walking and biking trails
-
Lakes and water features
-
The Ranch Club, a planned resident amenity destination
-
Recreation areas, pools, and gathering spaces
-
Walkable shopping and restaurant districts
One of the more interesting concepts is The Commons, a planned pedestrian-friendly restaurant area leading toward Liberty Lake.
There's also a proposed on-site H-E-B, which would certainly be a welcome addition for this growing part of Denton County.
Of course, it's important to distinguish between what's available today and what's planned for the future. Large master-planned communities develop over many years, and proposed amenities, businesses, and timelines can change.
What About Schools?
Furst Ranch is served by Argyle ISD, one of the reasons this area continues to attract attention from buyers.
The community also highlights access to Liberty Christian School and plans for educational facilities within the larger development.
As always, buyers should verify the specific school assignment for any property they're considering, especially in a growing area where attendance boundaries and campus plans can change.
What Should Buyers Know Before Purchasing at Furst Ranch?
As much fun as model homes are to tour, there are a few things I always encourage buyers to consider before signing a new-construction contract.
First, understand the real price. Model homes often showcase upgraded finishes, premium features, and design selections that aren't included in the advertised starting price.
Second, compare the builders. Floor plans, included features, structural options, warranties, and construction timelines can vary significantly, even within the same community.
Third, understand the costs beyond your mortgage. Property taxes, potential special district assessments, HOA dues, and other ownership expenses should be part of the conversation before you commit.
And finally, understand the timeline. When you're purchasing in a developing community, the amenities and commercial destinations shown in the master plan may not be available when you move in.
None of those things are necessarily deal-breakers. They're simply part of making an informed purchase.
And yes, you can—and should—have your own Realtor represent you when purchasing new construction. The builder's sales representative works for the builder.
My Take on Furst Ranch
I've watched this part of North Texas grow and change for years, and Furst Ranch is certainly one of the more interesting developments to come along.
What excites me most isn't necessarily the size of the community or even the planned amenities. It's the opportunity for buyers to find a home that actually fits their lifestyle rather than trying to make their lifestyle fit a particular floor plan.
From modern single-story living to impressive architectural details and more personalized construction options, there's a lot to explore here.
And after walking through 11 model homes in one day, I can confidently say there's no shortage of inspiration.
Thinking About Buying at Furst Ranch?
Whether you're interested in a move-in-ready home, building from the ground up, or simply comparing Furst Ranch with other communities like Harvest and Canyon Falls, I'd be happy to help you explore the options.
I've toured all 11 model homes, and I can help you narrow down which builders and floor plans are actually worth your time.
